Doing a placement test/drill from 3 yards. From the draw fire 3 shots into a 3” circle, then a 2” circle and then a 1” circle all within 3 seconds. Clean run on the 3” and 2” but had 1 round out of the 1” circle.
Working on target transition from the draw (hands at the shoulders). From the draw, put 3 shots into a 3” circle on both targets in under 4 seconds. With the grandkids running the video.
My time on this drill was 1.65 seconds and the total time for both 5 and 5 b = 3.03 vs a par-time lime of 3.30 seconds.
My time on this drill was 1.43 seconds and the total time for both 1 and 1 b = 2.91 vs a par-time lime of 3.3 seconds
This drill is from the “low-ready” position, pistol pointed at the bottom of the target. You must fire 2 shots with a par time of 1.35 or less for the 2 shots.
My time on this drill was 1.19 seconds
My time on this drill was 1.19 seconds and the total time for both 2 and 2 b = 2.38 vs a par-time lime of 2.70
The OGA 3 Drill requires 6 shots to be fired from the low-ready with a par time of 3 seconds or less.
My time on this drill was 2.7 seconds and the total time vs a par-time lime of 3 seconds.
The OGA Drill 4 is a 2 shot drill from the low-ready position, that requires a reload and is performed twice with a par-time of 6.5 seconds or less for the drill.
My time on this drill was 3.22 seconds vs a par-time lime of 3.25 seconds.
My time on this drill was 3.13 seconds and the total time for both 4 and 4b = 6.35 seconds vs a par-time lime of 6.50 seconds.
OGA 5 is a drill performed twice from the low-ready and you engage 2 separate targets with a total par-time of 3.3 seconds.
My time on this drill was 1.38 seconds vs a par-time lime of 1.65 seconds.
OGA Drill 6 is performed twice from the draw, and you begin the drill with your back to 3 targets that are equally spaced. You must turn and face the targets and fire 1 round into each target and your total par-time is 7 seconds.
My time on this drill was 3.5 seconds vs a par-time of 3.5 seconds.
My time on this drill was 3.4 seconds vs a par-time of 3.5 seconds. The total time for the drill was 6.90 seconds vs. a total par-time of 7 seconds.
OGA Drill 7 is performed from the low-ready position, and you engage the target with 1 round, reload and then kneel and fire 1 more shot. This drill is performed twice.
My time for this drill was 3.37 seconds vs a par-time of 4 seconds.
My time for this drill was 3.5 seconds vs a par-time of 4 seconds. The total time for the drill was 6.87 seconds vs a par-time total of 8 seconds.
All rounds fired were within the 5 “ circle for the 7 drills
Draw and fire on an 10” steel plate at 40 yds. The 10” steel plate has a 3” steel cover in the center. Shooting a Staccato C2 with a Trijicon RMR.

This is a short video of a Handgun Placement Test, that I believe was originally created by John "Shrek" McPhee. The placement test is from 3 yards, drawing from the holster and placing 3 rounds in a 3" circle within 3 seconds. I apologize up front for not wearing ballistic glasses, that is totally my fault and please know eye and ear protection are important for your safety. The unique thing about this video is that I am using different Handguns for the Placement Test. My theory on this is that if your fundamentals are correct, Stance, Index, Grip, Sight Alignment and Pressing out of the Handgun, it should not really matter what you are shooting. You likely have a favorite Handgun, but if you are fundamentally sound, you should be able to complete the Placement Test with any Handgun that is familiar to you. I used Handguns with a Red Dot sight (Trijicon SRO, Sig Romeo Zero) and iron sights. The Handguns are all 9mm: Springfield Armory EMP 4 CC, Staccato C Carry, Sig 365, Glock 48 and Glock 19. You can see the shot time display and also the round impact on the top left 3" shoot-n-see targets to verify the time and accuracy. I have to give a lot of credit to John at SOB Tactical as his instruction, training, video diagnostics really helped me become a better more confident shooter. Thanks Ken

This is a Handgun Placement Test at 3 different distances (3, 4 and 5 yards) from the draw, shooting at a 3" circle and firing 3 shots in 3 seconds or less. If you shoot the 3 distances clean, you then shoot again at 5 yards. John Shrek McPhee from SOB Tactical designed the 3, 4, 5 (x2) Drill to take the standard 3 yard Placement Test Drill to a more challenging level.

From 7 yds, draw and fire 3 shots in under 3 seconds into a 3” circle.

From 7 yards, with the rifle at the low ready, load a magazine with 1 round. At the sound of the buzzer fire 1 round, then do a reload from slide-lock and fire 1 more round. Target is a 3" circle and the goal is to complete the drill in under 3 seconds with both rounds in the circle.

We are always looking for things to make our shooting more fun and interesting. We designed a remote controlled robot to provide some additional challenges on the range.
We are working with our new remote controlled target turning system. It allows the shooter to set specific target presentation times and work on target recognition, speed and accuracy.
